The Department of Medical Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh, has recently announced its plans to upgrade the health infrastructure in the state and establish new medical colleges at 13 locations. The move is aimed at addressing the shortage of medical professionals and improving access to quality healthcare services in the state.

To achieve this objective, the Department of Medical Education has engaged the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (UPPWD) as the executing agency for the up-gradation of the district hospital in Auraiya to a 500-bedded teaching hospital and 100 admissions medical college.

The up-gradation of the hospital will involve the addition of new medical facilities and services such as advanced diagnostic equipment, operation theaters, intensive care units, and more. This will enable the hospital to provide quality healthcare services to patients from Auraiya and nearby districts.

In addition to the up-gradation of the district hospital, the government plans to establish new medical colleges at 13 locations across the state. These medical colleges will be equipped with modern facilities and infrastructure to provide world-class medical education to students and produce skilled medical professionals.

The establishment of new medical colleges will also create employment opportunities for healthcare professionals and support staff, thereby contributing to the economic development of the state.

The move is a part of the state government's larger efforts to improve the healthcare infrastructure in the state and provide better healthcare services to its citizens. The government has already taken several steps in this direction, such as the launch of the Ayushman Bharat scheme and the establishment of new hospitals and medical colleges in the state.

The Department of Medical Education has also emphasized the need to ensure that the new medical colleges meet the standards set by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and other regulatory bodies. This will ensure that the medical education provided at these colleges is of high quality and meets international standards.
