Establishment of NLCIL’s Integrated Township, Administrative Office and other allied Infrastructures in Sambalpur District, Odisha
NLC India Limited (NLCIL) is advancing its operations in Odisha with the establishment of a 2,400 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Plant in Sambalpur district. This project, valued at over 27,000 crore, aligns with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and aims to provide reliable, affordable, and continuous power, significantly contributing to the nation's energy security and economic growth.
To support this major initiative, NLCIL plans to develop an integrated township, administrative office, and other allied infrastructures in the Sambalpur district. The proposed township is expected to cover approximately 100 acres, providing residential facilities and amenities for employees and their families.
The administrative office will serve as the central hub for managing the power plant's operations, ensuring efficient coordination and oversight. Additional infrastructures, such as corridors and other essential facilities, are also planned to support the project's comprehensive development.
These developments are part of NLCIL's broader strategy to enhance its presence in Odisha, leveraging the state's resources and strategic location to bolster India's energy infrastructure. The integrated township and associated facilities will not only support the power plant's operations but also contribute to the socio-economic development of the Sambalpur district by creating employment opportunities and improving local infrastructure.
