The Headquarters of the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) stands on a 1-acre site in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. The building is meant to express openness and transparency in the way real estate is governed.
Plan and section
The four-storey building puts its public interface on the ground floor, where people arrive and are received. Offices, conference rooms and training facilities occupy the floors above, giving the authority's staff and stakeholders a single centre.
Building lightly
The structure is designed to resist earthquakes. Rainwater harvesting, solar panels and energy-efficient systems reduce the building's demands on water and power.
