The Master Plan for Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU) in Jabalpur sets out a net zero Campus: one that is energy efficient and largely self-sufficient, with a small carbon footprint.
Energy and water
Buildings use efficient technologies to keep energy demand low, and solar power meets what remains. Rainwater is harvested, greywater is recycled and irrigation is designed to use water sparingly.
Waste, Landscape and monitoring
- an on-campus waste-to-energy system and recycling facilities, aiming for zero waste
- extensive landscaping that supports biodiversity and improves the Campus microclimate
- IoT-enabled systems to monitor energy, water and other resources in real time
