Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor: Node Development

The Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor sets aside land at several nodes across the state for defence and aerospace manufacturing. The work here is to prepare that land: to set out the roads and networks each node needs, and to design the common buildings that let industry move in.

Five nodes

• Jhansi: 1,000 hectares (2,471 acres), in pockets for large and medium units
• Kanpur: 203 hectares (501 acres), beside the Fatehpur branch canal
• Chitrakoot: 100 hectares (247 acres)
• Lucknow: 100 hectares (247 acres)
• Aligarh

A plan for each node

Each node has its own site plan and detailed working drawings. Together they set out the road layout with street lighting, and the networks for power, water, sewerage, drainage and fire fighting that every plot will draw on.

Shared buildings

Alongside the networks are the buildings that an industrial area shares. Fire stations and police posts serve the nodes. Multi-utility buildings gather shops, canteens, banquet halls and guest rooms. Staff Housing is planned in two apartment types, and entrance gateways mark the approach.
