A 1,000-capacity District Jail at Bareilly for the Department of Home, Government of Uttar Pradesh, upgrading an old Prison complex into a Campus planned around the needs of inmates and staff.

About the project

The new District Jail at Bareilly upgrades an old Prison complex for the Department of Home, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The work began with an assessment of the existing complex: its buildings, its facilities and how it functioned from day to day.

The new Campus, on a 55-acre site, is planned for 1,000 inmates, with accommodation that includes dormitories. The design considers the safety of inmates and staff alike, and it makes room for inmates with particular needs, including those with disabilities or mental health conditions. Planning also allowed for the larger staff the bigger complex will need, from correctional officers to medical personnel.
