About the project
The Reserve Battalion and Sector Headquarters for the Central Industrial Security Force is planned on about 149 acres at Dhurwa, Ranchi. The site is entered from a road at its higher end, and the ground falls by about 7 metres towards the rear. It is irregular in shape, and because a grid substation abuts it, seven high-tension lines pass across it.
Roads that follow the ground
These conditions set the plan. The road layout answers the site's shape, its contours and the line of the overhead cables, while keeping the use of land efficient.
The Campus holds an administrative block and offices, messes, recreation and training areas, a parade ground and a Stadium with a fort wall, family quarters of several types and barracks for single personnel. A shopping centre, a swimming pool and a Hospital serve the community that lives there.
