About the project
Sinchai Bhawan is an existing Government office in Patna. The redevelopment, for the Building Construction Department, Government of Bihar, makes it work better for present-day administration while keeping continuity with its original character. Internal layouts are restructured to improve workflow, access and comfort, with clear zoning between administrative, operational and support areas.
Order on the facade
The building has clean lines, balanced proportions and subtle classical undertones. Repeated windows, vertical elements and carefully set openings give the facade order and rhythm, in a muted palette that is durable and easy to maintain. A prominent entrance portico marks the arrival. Vertical glazing and recessed openings bring more daylight into the offices, and new building services are fitted within the existing framework with as little disruption as possible.
