Integrated Court Complex, Hapur, Uttar Pradesh

A Landmark in Judicial Architecture by ARCH-EN DESIGN

Site Area: 25 Acres

Client: Government of Uttar Pradesh

Project Overview

The Integrated Court Complex at Hapur is conceived as a next-generation judicial campus that redefines efficiency, dignity, and user comfort in India’s justice infrastructure. Designed by ARCH-EN DESIGN, the project spans 25 acres and brings together court facilities, administrative spaces, advocate chambers, residential quarters, and civic amenities within a cohesive and secure master plan.

Strategically located in western Uttar Pradesh, the project serves as a critical institutional anchor for a rapidly growing region. Its architecture responds to the dual needs of functional clarity and cultural sensitivity, setting a new benchmark for judicial environments in the state.

Master Planning Approach

The planning philosophy organizes the campus into distinct, interdependent zones ensuring clarity of movement and controlled access for various user groups—judges, advocates, litigants, staff, and the public.

Key Master Plan Components

  • Court Building: A LG + UG + 5 structure housing 37 courtrooms, ADR suites, record management systems, e-filing counters, witness areas, segregated circulation for undertrials, and dedicated judge access.
  • Advocates’ Chamber Block: A G + 7 tower designed for senior and junior advocates, featuring a Bar Association Hall, canteen, medical bay, Xerox/stamping kiosks, and ancillary service spaces.
  • Residential Precinct: Includes the District Judge’s residence, Type VI & Type V quarters, and a dedicated recreational club for residents—integrated with landscaping for privacy and security.
  • Infrastructure Backbone:
    • Sewage Treatment Plant (275 KLD)
    • Dual 2500 KVA electrical substations
    • Solar-powered street lighting

Sustainability Features

The project is designed to achieve GRIHA 3-Star certification, incorporating:

  • North–south oriented building blocks for daylight optimization
  • Energy-efficient HVAC and lighting systems
  • Low-flow water fixtures and green plumbing strategies
  • Reduced heat-island hardscape materials
  • Native, low-maintenance landscaping
  • Extensive water harvesting & recycling

Compliance with NBC 2016 and ECBC 2017 norms ensures structure, safety, and performance excellence.

Landscape Design

Landscape acts as a unifying layer across the campus, shaping both movement and experience.

Landscape Highlights

  • Avenue plantations and shaded pedestrian corridors
  • Sculptural roundabouts enhancing civic identity
  • Open courtyards between built forms
  • Seating alcoves, children’s activity zones, and meditation spaces

Design Vision

The Hapur Integrated Court Complex embodies ARCH-EN DESIGN’s core philosophy:

“Architecture that serves people, elevates institutions, and responds responsibly to the environment.”

From functional planning to sustainable engineering, every decision reinforces the goal of creating a judicial campus that is:

  • Efficient in movement
  • Secure in operation
  • Humane in experience
