A Medical College for 150 admissions and a 500-bed teaching Hospital at Singrauli, planned as one connected Campus so that teaching, clinical training and patient care stay within reach of each other.

About the project

Government Medical College and Hospital, Singrauli, brings a Medical College for 150 admissions and a 500-bed teaching Hospital together on a 25-acre site in Madhya Pradesh, for the Directorate General of Medical Education. The starting idea is that a teaching Hospital works as one organism, not as a set of separate buildings.

College and Hospital together

The Hospital holds patient care, diagnostics, emergency services, operation theatres, intensive care and the specialty departments. The College provides lecture halls, Laboratories, faculty rooms and learning spaces. The two zones are planned close together, so that students move easily between classroom and ward, while Hospital routes stay controlled where they need to be.

Across the Campus, zoning is kept legible and movement runs along shaded corridors, so that patients, students, doctors and visitors can find their way through a large public institution out of the sun.
