New academic and Hospital buildings that take the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College at Jabalpur to 250 admissions a year under National Medical Commission norms, set among the existing College buildings.

About the project

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College is the Government Medical College at Jabalpur. For the Madhya Pradesh PWD, ARCH-EN DESIGN planned its upgradation to 250 admissions a year under the norms of the National Medical Commission (formerly the Medical Council of India), with a 500-bed Teaching Hospital, acting as Architect and Project Management consultant. The new work adds 44,000 m² of building on the 50-acre Campus, at a cost of ₹280 crore.

New buildings in an old Campus

The new academic block is a long building of a ground and four floors, planned around internal courtyards with roof lights and set among the existing College buildings and the mature trees of the Campus. Its façades are finished in warm cream and sand tones, with pierced screen panels that mark the stair towers and the entrances.

The work was completed in 2021.
